How does Latisse™ work?
The active ingredient in LATISSE ™is bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is not known, research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the percent of hairs in, and the duration of, the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker and darker because bimatoprost can also prolong this growth phase
How fast does it work?
Available only through a doctor, LATISSE™ is a once-daily prescription treatment applied to the base of the upper eyelashes with a sterile, single-use-per-eye disposable applicator. LATISSE™ users can expect to experience longer, fuller and darker eyelashes in as little as eight weeks, with full results in 16 weeks. How long does it last?
To maintain effect, continued treatment with LATISSE™ is required. If use of LATISSE™ is discontinued, eyelashes will gradually return to where they were prior to treatment over a period of weeks to months (an average eyelash hair cycle). Once you've reached the 16 week mark, it is our understanding that an every day application is not a necessity. Not gospel, but it's what we've overheard from some reliable sources
How can I get Latisse?
Latisse is a prescription-only product and will not be available in stores or on the internet. Current patients may simply call the office to arrange to stop by for your product and to answer a few questions. (Latisse is not prescribed in certain instances when health conditions exist. This precription-only requirement is in place for your protection).
Patients who have not been to our before will need to be stop in for a quick exam before the prescription product can be obtained. Latisse is available in our office now.
