What is Jawline Slimming?

Woman with slim jawline, smiling Enlarged masseter muscles can produce a bulky and masculine jawline – one that seems almost etched in stone – and detract from the softer, more feminine qualities many women desire. Masseter muscle enlargement may be a result of bruxism (tooth grinding), an often unconscious consequence of stress and anxiety. Pronounced jaw muscles may also be the result of genetics, unavoidable regardless of your habits.

What is Jawline Slimming?

Jawline slimming addresses enlarged masseter muscles to produce a softer, less aggressive appearance. Targeting the muscles themselves, jawline slimming releases tension, allowing for less rigidity and helping to produce a more welcoming and attractive facial profile.

How is Jawline Slimming Performed?

Jawline slimming is accomplished with BOTOX® Cosmetic, a neurotoxin that disrupts the signals between nerves and muscles. While safe and effective, it is important to note that the dilution of BOTOX® that is used for masseter muscle relaxation is different than that used to treat things like crow’s feet. This is just one reason it is important to see a qualified, trained, and experienced cosmetic dermatologist for this and any other injectable treatment.

Dr. Fitzgerald has been selected to train doctors around the world in safe and effective injection practices and is the primary instructor at the P.A.L.E.T.T.E Resources Program. If you are considering jawline slimming, she welcomes an opportunity to meet with you, assess your areas of concerns, and help you choose the best course forward.

Combining Procedures

Jawline slimming with BOTOX® Cosmetic is often effective on its own. In some cases, results may be enhanced with complimentary treatments such as Ultherapy to address loose and sagging skin along the neck and jowls, or double chin treatments including Kybella® and CoolSculpting®. These treatments can help enhance jawline slimming with BOTOX® for some people, but will not be necessary for everyone. During your initial consultation, we will discuss all of your options to help you choose the most effective course of treatment for your needs.
